Product Description

Product Description

Despite competition from the New World, French wine is still the most highly regarded in the world. Eight hundred French experts have put 28,000 wines through the most rigorous of tests, a blind tasting. The result is a unique guide to the very best French wines, including the following information per wine: year of wine tasted; area cultivated; quality of wine (good/very good/exceptional); kind of wine (colour/still or sparkling); tasting on site; price; sales on site; price/quality ratio; best/exceptional years; to drink/to keep/to keep a little then drink; matured in barrel or tank; number of bottles produced; information not available in other guides. Plus a comprehensive and practical section - from how to read the label, the differing bottle and glass shapes to pairing wine with food and keeping a cellar.

5.0 out of 5 stars The bible for all French Wine, 27 April 2002
By A Customer
This book has in-depth knowledge & reference to all wines & wine areas in France. Easy to use, you can view vintages, region, grape type, price, overall taste notes, location, to drink now or later etc. This is the finest complete guide to French wines you can find. Now, let me get back to my Latour 82!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic guide to fine French wine, 20 April 2009
By Andy C (London) - See all my reviews
The price of this guide was great, this book was recommended to me by a French man.
I have not looked back , the Country is split into it's producing areas and producers and so on.
You cannot go wrong to find a wine that you like and then buy a really fine wine, or a wine of your choice from a good producer.
Highly recommended to anyone who likes wine! Enjoy
