5.0 out of 5 stars Magic dog training without the myths, 27 Jun 2003
By Paul C Bunker (MELTON MOWBRAY, Leics United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
I have been professionally training dogs for over twenty years and am clearly still learning. This book gives an excellent insight into the dogs mind in clear, easy to understand english. Broken down into three main chapters; What is a dog?, Positive approach to problem behaviours and Problem solving A-Z. It gives the new owner as well as the seasoned professional advice which is really second to none. I just wish I had read this book when I started training.

5.0 out of 5 stars An Excellent Book - Full of Common Sense, 6 Sep 2001
By A Customer
My Dog, Jym was a problem. He took a liking to eating rather large holes through walls, and liked the taste of my shoes, all three pairs of them.

After reading this book, within a week Jym improved and is now an obidient, loving and generally affectionate, (if a little mischevious) dog.

I thoroughly recommend this book. As you read it you will realise the silly mistakes YOU made, and how easy it is to bring the best out in your Dog.

I would recomend this book to anyone, whether your Dog is a problem or not.

Remember, your Dog will never think like a Human, but you should be able to think like a Dog.

Easy reading too!

5.0 out of 5 stars Psychologists and Owners take note!, 18 Nov 2002
This book may not be written in textbook format but for anyone wshing to pursue a career in canine behaviour or just get to know your best friend better this is a must. Mr Fisher has all the wisdom one could wish for in a lecturer and all the practicality of a hands-on trainer. This book will give you all you could wish for as a student if you REALLY want to learn. Remember - WE (as the PSY's) owe it to our patients (Bipeds or Quadrapeds) to understand the world as THEY see it.
