5.0 out of 5 stars Depth and clarity, 5 May 2002
By A Customer
This book gives a detailed view of the most forgotten arena of WWII. The descritions of the conditions and weather that these men fought through make you cold wherever you are. Still, it's worth a read.

One small quibble, a map might be helpful. Detailed references to longitude and latitude would be made clearer

4.0 out of 5 stars Invaluable narrative history of the Arctic convoys, 5 Jul 2001
Paul Kemp has succeeded in writing an interesting and invaluable history of the Arctic Convoys. Describing detailed actions together with the strategic and tactical situations that surrounded them and the personalities involved. The appendices and index also make this an ideal reference for the Naval historian.

5.0 out of 5 stars In Arctic Waters, 19 Sep 2009

A very well-written book about the Russian convoys. Filled with interesting little anecdotes which do not in any way distract from the history, A good buy.
