'Written with a strong sense of fun and style, this tie-in book to the Channel 4 series is literally a bible for the man eager to learn which skin care regime is best for his skin type, how to knot his tie correctly, or cook the perfect meal for that special lady. A must buy for every man whose life needs tszuj-ing' * * * * * (HEAT magazine )

'If you have a straight friend, brother, uncle or workmate who seriously needs help, then this is the book to buy them. He'll go from geek to sleek in no time. And, even if you aren't a clueless hetero, there's still a lot of handy 'Hip Tips' to take on board, like how to achieve the perfect shave (its the kind of thing no one ever really shows you), which essentials should be in your wardrobe and how to make the most of your flat, all delivered in the Fab Five's trademark snarky fashion.' (BOYZ )

'At last - the ultimate present for the man in your life... it contains invaluable tips for men on entertaining, dressing, personal grooming, social etiquette and generally adopting a lifestyle so utterly suave they'll never leave their clothes in a pile on the floor again... Informative, hilarious and as stylish as the fab five themselves.' (DAILY RECORD )

'Jammed with witty quotes from the fellas, this is a fun and colourful page flicker that'll come in handy when you need a stocking-filler for your lad this Christmas.' (HOT STARS - OK MAGAZINE )

4.0 out of 5 stars interesting and practical book..., 27 Jul 2004
By A Customer
...full of tips for men on etiquette, style, food and drink, decor and grooming. Probably the best way to sum up this book is that it's like an extended version of GQ/FHM...but without the pictures of girls!

This book does convey the 'personality' of the TV show presenters which may or not be a bad thing according tohow much you like their style. For example, there is far too much use of "tszuj" which does grate a little on the 50th use of the word on the same page!

Aside from that it is a useful guide for a guy who'd like to make a good impression.

5.0 out of 5 stars Like the show - love the book, 25 May 2004
By Chris (Portsmouth, England) - See all my reviews
If, like me, your a fan of the TV show, then the book is a perfect complement (and save you needing to take notes throughout the show). Every little tip is in here from the three button suit rule, to the evils of a monobrow. Well, written, with just the comedy edge you expect from these guys, and it shows they really know their stuff. I've learn a lot, and trust me guys you will too! Just be careful that this is a US biased book, so some of the terminology has to be slightly adapted, but it's nothing that puts you off too much.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Reproduction Of Tips From The Show, 13 Jul 2004
By Scottish Dave (Edinburgh, Scotland) - See all my reviews

This is a nice small sized coffee table like book that you can either flick through or sit down and read properly. Each of the Fab 5 are given a chapter and within you will find a mixture of text, pictures and various lists. Much of what is contained inside the book I had heard already from the show but it is nice to see it in print. The chapters are written with the same humour as the show. If you have watched all the episodes then you probably won't learn too much that is new but it will prove a fun read.

4.0 out of 5 stars Amusing and actually worthwhile
The book is obviously a light read but it is fun and does have some good advice. The guidance on Culture is too light to be meaningful, the guidance on Furnishings is too specific... Read more
