Rather than a coffee-table book, this is a very useful and concise history of decorative styles and motifs throughout 400 years (1470-1870)in Europe. It is very well illustrated, mostly in black and white, but some colour also. The book is divided into chapters according to main cities and their golden period(ex: Amsterdam 1610-1670; Paris 1660-1720). The reading is easy and
