3.0 out of 5 stars Amazing story let down by the way it's told, 29 Jan 2008
By Chelli (Yorkshire) - See all my reviews
This is the amazing true story of a young Ugandan girl who left her violent, cruel and uncaring family life behind to become a child soldier, only to experience even worse brutality and violence at the hands of her superiors.
China tells the tale in her own words and style so you get a genuine first hand account of everything, but unfortunatley she's not a skilled storyteller and although you can forgive her poor grammar, the lack of detail and explaination often left me confused.
This could be a 5* book with the right ghost writer.
