Two spiritual directors involved in counselling work explore matters such as stages of spiritual growth and finding a faith community. They then offer the stories of a number of people who have found helpful ways of praying in particular circumstances.

4.0 out of 5 stars Life-affirming, 30 Jul 2009
By Judy Apps (Dorking, UK) - See all my reviews
This is a wonderfully uplifting book for anyone. Whether you belong to a faith community and take part in regular worship or find your greatest sense of wonder in a walk on the hills, it will give you courage and gentle encouragement to explore your spiritual path further. It's full of ideas and stories of approaches people have taken to have a relationship with God and made me realise that we are already on that journey - we just need to pause and realise! This is a book of possibility, not of rules and restrictions, and the writers' life-affirming humanity and wisdom shine through.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ways for every one to engage in the spiritual life, 17 Aug 2009
By S. F. Bond "Will" (Yorkshire) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This book is full of varied and interesting approaches to finding God in all kinds of human experience. It makes sense of the ordinary and the extraordinary. As it includes all kinds of things we do as people it encourages us to find value in what might have seemed humdrum and mundane. It is the kind of book which allows you to dip in and out, or take longer to ponder, if that's what you need.
