"Clearly laid out." Journal of Institute of Leadership and Management

Product Description

** NOTE - Due to how this book has been reproduced the print quality of the diagrams are low quality with patchy shading. ** Any consultant aiming to survive and succeed in a competitive world needs to have a clear and concise change model to hand; one that can guarentee delivery of a wide range of change projects.Based around the author's 7C's model - client, clarify, create, change, confirm, continue, close - this book offers both budding and experienced consultants a solid framework to enable them to manage any consultancy assignment. With the help of the crib notes on the pull-out back pocket guide, the 7 C's model will show you how to improve your professionalism, and deliver clear and demonstrable results to clients, bringing them back for more. This second edition has been thoroughly overhauled to improve every aspect of the programme, with new models in all sections. There is a substantial additional element on ethical consulting - vital in the post-Enron business environment. Seven Cs of Consulting remains the definitive process guide, with no time sensitive case studies.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent book on change management consulting, 29 April 2008
One word of warning: The author has a very defined idea of what a consultants do - they help clients implement change. Some of my work fits this description and some doesn't - many of my friends call themselves consultants but neither they nor their clients would regard managing change as fundamental to their assignments.

All of which is a long winded way of saying that his book might not be for you. However, if you do see yourself as someone who helps others manage change then the framework in this book is excellent - I've been recommending it to friends for years. I ever know of an in-house "HR Business Partner" who bases her relationships with her in-house "clients" on the framework.

If, however, you are looking for a book on how to set up and survive as a consultant in the broader sense of the word I'd strongly recommend Mike Johnson's Smarter Consulting - the title is misleading but the content excellent. Excellent book on change management consulting
