5.0 out of 5 stars Sparks Fly Upward, 3 Feb 2003
By A. Rogers "angel_redhead" (South Wales, UK) - See all my reviews

This is quite simply a very amusing, witty book. The book's style is very similiar to that of David Niven.

It covers his rise to stardom, the famous ladies in his life & many genuinely funny incidents & anecdotes.

The first time I read it I was unable to put it down as it had me in stitches of laughter. But of course there are serious moments which Mr Granger has a wonderful way of recounting.

Even if you've never heard of Stewart Granger you will enjoy his memories of being a leading male actor in the 40's & 50's, first in Britain & then in America.

This is a wonderful book, don't miss out.

5.0 out of 5 stars A wonderful entertainment, 28 Sep 2007
Everything you hope from a biography. It is a funny, poignant, self depracating.

Inside stories and a splendid portrayal of the Hollywood and British film industry in the 50's.

A perfect holiday entertainment, as a good a read as I have had.

I really enjoyed the book. Told a lot about the man I have admired for so many years and what made him "tick".
