Product Description

Amazon.co.uk Review

With its lovely, humorous illustrations and wonderful narrative about a hungry caterpillar growing up to be a beautiful butterfly, Eric Carle's story touches anyone who still has some growing to do. Along with reassuring repetition--"He was still hungry"--the book includes some wonderful interactive moments: what youngster can resist sticking a finger through that hole in the page as his ravenous friend makes his way through various delicacies? --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

Product Description

5.0 out of 5 stars An amusing and engaging book. Favourite with my kids., 16 Jul 2000
By A Customer
This has been a favourite with both my children. The pictures are clear and amusing and the text is simple but never boring. Both kids asked me to read it them again and again and could soon tell me what was written on each page. A must.

This wonderful story is accompanied by brilliant drawings. The small holes provide a an excellent way for the child to parictipate in reading the book. All the children I know love it!

5.0 out of 5 stars A FAVOURITE WITH THE KIDS, 29 Mar 2009
This book just goes to show how much simple things can be loved. I remember this story from my own childhood and all my 4 children love this book too. Even though my eldest is 13 years old now, she still remembers it fondly. My youngest two, who are 2 and 3 years, absolutely love this book. They ask for it every night and can almost 'read' the story from memory word for word. It is written in a no nonsense, to the point way that is easy for children to understand, but this in no way diminishes the enjoyment of the story. As well as depicting the life cycle of a caterpillar, it also encourages counting, learning the days of the week and teaches a valuable lesson about the dangers of eating too much junk food! Fun and educational, truly a children's classic.
