Product Description

Product Description

This is the story of Roger Hargreaves, the creator of the "Mr Men" books. Born in Yorkshire, he began his career in advertising and became a successful copywriter, but he dreamed of writing small books for small children and one day Mr Tickle, the first Mr Men character, was born. Ten years and many books later, when the Hargreaves family had moved to Guernsey, the first "Little Miss" books appeared. This book is one of a biography series which tells the stories of famous people from the past, including artists, composers, writers, musicians, pioneers and explorers. The books support the National Curriculum at Key Stage 1 abd 2 and should be accessible to older students with reading difficulties.

4.0 out of 5 stars A very good outline of the authors life, 14 April 2001
By A Customer
I think this book gave a very good outline of Rodger Hargreaves achevements and main elements of his career and personal life. It is a very well balanced book so children as well as adults would enjoy reading it. It gives a good understanding of an advertisers/authors life and even if you don't like the adorable Mr Men and Little Miss you are bound to love this book.
