5.0 out of 5 stars Footballing reality check, 31 Aug 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: The Great Divide (Paperback)
I enjoyed the hardback so I bought the paperback for the update and the extra chapters. Well worth it. Of course you don't have the very latest news - turn to the back pages or web pages for that - but this is current events seen with the advantage of intelligent analysis and informed insight. Fascinating reading for Arsenal fans, teeth-gritting facing of reality for Spurs fans, but a story of relevance to all football fans.

4.0 out of 5 stars Further insights and anecdotes, 19 Oct 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: The Great Divide (Paperback)
For those of us that devoured the hardback edition of this authoritative and readable tome, the paperback is a welcome release. Fynn and Blair take us even further into the world of North London football with their usual blend of the serious, the sobering and the silly. If you are an Arsenal or Spurs fan and can read, you are doing yourself a great disservice if you don't own this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars A rare behind the scenes look at Spurs and Arsenal, 4 Sep 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: The Great Divide (Paperback)
I've just bought the paperback edition and the three new chapters add even more fascinating revelations on the state of London's two deadliest footballing rivals. It's bang up to date covering everything from Sugar's departure to the arrival of Glenn Hoddle at Tottenham along with Sol Campbell's dramatic transfer and Arsene Wenger's management philosophy. I don't know how Alex Fynn gets so much inside info but he clearly manages to open doors that would be shut to the rest of the sporting press. A great read written in a pacy, irreverent style.
