5.0 out of 5 stars Warm and witty account of the best ever music show on TV, 22 Nov 1999
By A Customer
Loads of info and anecdotes for fans of what Bono called the best rock and roll show in the world, plus a great selection of pictures from the old Tyne Tees archive. Close your eyes and you're back in the eighties and the era of Jools and Paula - still the coolest double-act in TV. The book neatly illustrates why the Tube made such an impact - and why there's been nothing like it since. It's humorously endorsed by Jools who describes it as beautifully crafted (it is - full marks to the designer) and 'filled with spontaneity, humour, a love of music and bare-faced lies ...!' As he says - buy one, or if you can't - steal it!!

5.0 out of 5 stars the highs and the lows of the groundbreaking live music show, 19 Nov 1999
Find out what went on behind the scenes of this ground breaking music show. Maria Malone who worked on the programme illustrates the highs and lows of the series, from Jools'infamous use of a four letter word which saw him banned from the programme for six weeks to the last ever performance of the Jam. Including interviews with Jools and Paula, the artists producers and prominent figures in the music business The Tube Exposed gives a unique insiders' glimpse behind the scenes of the most popular rock series ever. Lavishly illustrated with rare photographs it offers, in words and pictures a record of one of the most exciting periods in British musical history. As Jules Holland says in the foreword - 'I insist you purchase this book, or if you are unable to do so you steal it' What else is there to say?
