The book is mainly from the Afro-Carribbean perspective and covers the endemic racism in England and how it affects the black race. The style in which it is written tends to take an academic perspective and refers to Beckfords previous books, so if you haven't read those it can become complex and confusing and if you are a non academic you certainly need a dictionary and time to truly understand. Nevertheless the book relates to black experiences, it will make you more aware of the state of the institutional racism of this country and the issues that go towards the feelings of rage and how to deal with it.
