5.0 out of 5 stars feudal masterpiece, 21 Oct 2002
This work is a masterpiece of historical analysis. Not only does Duby explain the intricate workings of feudalism, he also leaves the reader in no doubt as to the sometimes base motives of the individuals involved in its conception and longevity. From Gerard of Cambrai to the Capetians, its all here.
