5.0 out of 5 stars Revising the scientific revolution, 1 Mar 2003
By A Customer
This book is a fascinating and detailed account of the world of courtly science. Galileo's popularity and respectibility is discussed in depth. The conclusions overturn the traditional perception of the scientific revolution as a period of dry discoveries based on experimental method and show the pagentry of absolutist science. An essential read for anyone hoping to gain an understanding of science in this period.
