The Classroom in a Book series is good. You rarely (if ever) come across errors (since they're developed by Adobe) and you always leave with a better understanding of how to navigate Adobe's colossal software programs. They're also good for reference -- if you come across a project similar to one of the exercises in the book, it's always easy to find it. A good recent addition to the CIB series is the excerpts from the user guides. As far as layout goes, it would be helpful if the steps were bold or bulleted - and if the book stayed open when laid flat (like a workbook). Also, a minor complaint I have with most of the software tutorials I come across is that there is little or no room for creativity. Just following steps and procedures can be very dull. A notable exception is the Macromedia Authorized series. They are big, very easy to read (lots of white space and the steps are bold), they lay flat, and after each lesson they suggest an "On Your Own" excercise.

I have read this title cover to cover last week and found it to be very easy to absorb. This text contains only minor interuptions in following the thought-flow" and "exercise-flow" to attain a skill confidence you expected to earn when you bought this title. U'll learn it quickly...HERE. (Mac and/or Win)

Adobe products usually work well and have a strong support group behind them, this work is no exception. Acrobat is a good product and the team that put this book and CD together is obviously well versed and dedicated to teaching. You learn a lot and have an easy to use reference and guide. It is clear, concise, and well organized. It is worth the price.
