Flipping through this book it appears to cover a wide range of issues related to compiler design and implementation. Hence the 3 stars. However the book is very 'academic': nearly every chapter plunges into lots of maths with no provocation, and the depth of information often seems insufficient for solving practical compiler implementation issues.

I found the book hard going and not that easy to read, it has a lot of scope for improvement and the chapters do cover some very intresting concepts and designs.
