This book covers the fundamentals of scripting in the Korn Shell. It provides insight into making the shell work better for the user but does not get too involved in performance issues. It is basically a scripting/programming book that expects a decent amount of knowedge of Unix tools. If you don't have basic Unix understanding you'll need to gain knowledge in tools such as vi, sed, cut, awk; it's pointless otherwise. An excellent book - but don't expect rocket science!
