I found this edition very easy to read and understand, the text is laid out in a way that shows clearly who is speaking, unlike in some editions.

This is a good 'Western' translation that maintains it's readability and poetry whilst still being accurate and true to the original. The verses are numbered but the original Sanskrit text is not included. I was looking for a simple easy-to-read version that was not cluttered by Sanskrit text or commentary, so this version was ideal for me. The introduction is very brief but informative giving you just what you 'need to know' and no more. I prefer it to the Penguin classics version as the translation is more readable and accurate in my opinion.

It's also a slim book which makes it easy to carry around and I love the artwork on the front cover.

If you are looking for a more in-depth understanding, then this would not be the version for you - see my other reviews for some other suggestions to this regard.

All in all a great and accessible translation, especially if you are not an expert or if you want a simple uncluttered reference that is poetic, accurate and readable.

Gita has to get a superstar rating in whatever you acquire it. Great work. Howvere this is a pure translation so do not expect anything explained.
