5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing!, 10 Aug 2001
By A Customer
You cannot beat this dictionary. I brought it to Italy when moving here as my sole dictionary and there very very few words I have not found sufficiently translated in there.

Highly recommended!

4.0 out of 5 stars What a pity for the mess-up with pronunciation, 1 Feb 2004
By Peter (Hungary) - See all my reviews
The one blatant shortcoming of this dictionary is its failure to indicate Italian pronunciation properly. The Italian letters E, O, S and Z have two different realisations each, where the alternation is essentially not predictable. The dictionary ignores this, and what irks me most is that it painstakingly indicates the pronunciations of all English entries. The skimpy, one-page “Italian pronunciation guide” at the beginning might as well have been omitted.
Other than this, the dictionary is excellent, surprisingly comprehensive especially in view of its size, and thoroughly up to date (I at least haven’t seen other dictionaries that include “sound card” or “pulldown menu”). Were a future edition to include Italian phonetic transcriptions, then I wouldn’t have anything to say to that (besides giving it six stars).
