5.0 out of 5 stars A clear, well structured account of a complex subject, 27 Oct 1999
By R. Bell (Carrickfergus, Northern Ireland) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This is an excellent book, giving a clear introduction to the subject. It makes no assumptions about prior knowledge and mixes the topics of connectionist modelling and cognitive science very well. There are practical worked examples for each chapter using the Tlearn PC software (supplied) which build up practical knowledge in an active way as the book progresses. Each principle rule of connectionist modelling is dealt with in turn and is also set in its historical context. A clear, analytical and well structured account. Very readable too.

5.0 out of 5 stars No software included, 18 Sep 2008
By C. X. Linton-Willoughby "flyinghyphen" (UK) - See all my reviews
(TOP 500 REVIEWER)    (REAL NAME)
The publisher has confirmed that the software is no longer supplied with the book

The book was originally published with a floppy disk (1998). However, when the book moved to print-on-demand (29/08/2007), the title was amended directing people to a website from which the software that had originally been included on the disk, could be downloaded.
