Book Description
A charming story about growing up, featuring an adorable family of rabbits

Product Description
Bean is a little rabbit. Although she's getting bigger every day, she is sure that she will never, ever be too big for her Cloth. So when Mummy and Daddy try to persuade her, very gently, that perhaps she can stop carrying Cloth everywhere with her, Bean decides she must hide Cloth in a safe place to protect it from being taken away. But the trouble with hiding things in very safe places is that they can't always be found again and Bean has to face her first bedtime without Cloth. Naturally, Bean doesn't like being without her Cloth but, day by day, she learns to let go. Then one day, a long time later when Bean is out playing with her friends, she sees a little baby fox cub cuddling her Cloth. Feeling happy for the little fox cub and not at all envious that he now has her Cloth makes Bean feel very grown up indeed!

5.0 out of 5 stars For every child with a comfort blanket, 20 Aug 2007
By A reader (London, England) - See all my reviews
This review is from: I Love My Cloth (Paperback)
This is such a sweet book and beautifully illustrated. The cover features a flocked bunny, called Bean, with her cloth (comfort blanket) - a nice touch for little fingers. Bean the bunny takes her cloth everywhere with her. She's afraid that, as she's getting a bit older, it might be taken from her (mummy and daddy bunny think she might be too old to need a comfort blanket still). The story shows how she grows out of needing it for comfort over time. As a child I had my own beloved cloth so this book tugged at my heartstrings. I'd definitely recommend it - I'd give more than 5 stars if I could!

I got this product as my grandson who is 2 carries a blanket wherever he goes and will not sleep without it. He is due to start playschool in December and we want to wean him off it at least during the day. He calls it his snuggles and was very excited to see the bunny had one but whne I read the story to him and showed him she lost it he said oh no but I think it is a lovely story and very well written.

5.0 out of 5 stars A charming story about a bunny and her snuggly blanket, 24 Sep 2007
By ELH Browning "Esther-Lou" (Kingston Bagpuize, Oxon) - See all my reviews
(TOP 500 REVIEWER)
This review is from: I Love My Cloth (Paperback)
This is a gorgeous gently-paced story of a soft huggable bunny reminiscent of those in Debbie Gliori's stories or Anita Jeram's Guess How Much I Love You hares. Bean the bunny has grown quite big, big enough to hop round the pond and go dandelion picking, but everywhere she goes she carries her blue spotted cloth. Bean loves her cloth and won't countenance the idea, suggested by Mummy and Daddy, that she should perhaps do some things without Cloth. To keep Cloth forever, Bean decides to put it somewhere safe where Mummy and Daddy will never find it. And she was right, they don't but when she goes back to get it at bedtime, neither can Bean. At this point in the story any parent whos child has a dependence on a particular blanket or soft toy will feel their stomach lurch. It's a terrifying idea for the reader, and my children's eyes grow wide at the very thought. Bean's family are very kind however and after a few bedtimes Bean gradually forgot about Cloth. Cloth does reappear on the last page and it's a lovely ending. This is a great book for small children who have a special toy which they can't sleep without, and could be very useful indeed if that toy either goes astray or really needs to be coaxed from a child. It's also a beautiful edition with a soft touchy-feely cover.
