Product Description
Synopsis
At first, Sean doesn't see anything wrong with going for a burger with his father, even if it's not his regular day for visiting. But when the meal stretches to a weekend on a boat and they end up in France, he begins to wonder if his dad is telling him the truth. And why can't he phone his mother?

5.0 out of 5 stars A wonderful novel for young readers., 29 Oct 2001
By sjs1833@prodigy.net (Rhode Island, USA) - See all my reviews
"A Faraway Place" deals with the very serious issue of the kidnapping of two young children by their father. The story is told from the point of view of the older child. This is a beautifully written book which manages to detail the deep emotions felt by all sides of this situation from each fo the parents, the two children, and even one of the children's best friend without becoming preachy. "A Faraway Place" has a very realistic feel, and I highly reccomend it.
