5.0 out of 5 stars Odd Girl Out, 21 April 2002
I would like to express my thanks and congratulations to Rachel Simmons for her excellent book 'Odd Girl Out - The Hidden Culture of Aggression in Girls'.This is a very important book that I believe every woman who has ever been 'aggressed' by other girls or women should read. We are given an insight into the lives of victims and bullies and the stark reality of the difficult choices faced by girls in social situations, especially at school. This book addresses a problem that is hardly ever discussed, yet can have a devastating effect on girls' lives which can haunt them into adulthood. The book is very well researched and contains a large number of actual interviews with girls in various schools. Very importantly Rachel Simmons gives guidance in the last chapter on how to deal with these difficult, but alarmingly common situations.

4.0 out of 5 stars thoughtfully written, 11 Aug 2002
By A Customer
This book is well thought out and possibly a long time coming. Simmons deals with the issues of female bullying and 'popularity' in a personal and thought provoking style. it is slightly cheesey in an American way but all is forgiven because she has brought to light a subject that most women have dealt with and provided an outlet for sharing their experiences.
