Product Description

You won't find it on any map, this tropical island has its origins somewhere and everywhere...Sung into existence by Jimmy Buffett and popularised on the radio, Margaritaville is both mythical and real - a place where human curiosity, passion, and humour delicately intertwine. Tales from Margaritaville brings an extraordinary southern writer to the world of fiction. The imaginary island of Snake Bite Key, the wonderfully colourful inhabitants of Heat Wave, the fictional pop hero Freddy Fishwick, and much, much morel

5.0 out of 5 stars fun, relaxing, great book to escape to the lower latitudes., 15 Jun 1999
By A Customer
This book is full of great short stories that all make you want to go down to the islands and have a margarita. Jimmy Buffett has taken his patented escapism techniques that he's used in his music for so many years and applied them to his writing. Readers will get caught up in the lives of many people in many situations but they all have that distinct Buffett flavor that all parrotheads are looking for. Non Parotheads will no doubt enjoy the book as well because it is simply well written.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellence., 22 Feb 1999

A phenomenal book from an extraordinary storyteller. I've read this book dozens of times and never get tired of it. Buffett delivers everything his ParrotHeads have come to love in his music: Adventure, Comedy, Love, Folly. Just an amazing collection...
