5.0 out of 5 stars cunningly perceptive view of a distant and distracted father, 7 Oct 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: A Hole in the Earth (Hardcover)
This is a cunning and perceptive view of a 'typically' distant and distracted father trying to make amends for his past failures. The story unfolds in a gripping manner where each apparently successful move can only lead to another unexpected error which will, in turn, lead to another difficult and challenging turn of events. Written in the first person the reader gets an unusually in depth perception of Henry which - perhaps - does not extend to such a great extent to the female characters in the book. I found it an insightful and highly entertaining book which should appeal to anybody who emphasizes with those who do not have the perfect family.
