Tails is a fantastic book for toddlers. It combines all their favourite things - touchy-feely, lift-the-flap and tabs to pull - and even has a scratch and sniff skunk that smells truly disgusting.

It shows seventeen different animals - many of which are not normally found in books for this age group. Chipmunk, porcupine, racoon, peacock and bush baby are all featured - so perhaps not ideal as a first animal book, but good for expanding their vocabulary and as a change from the normal farm/jungle books.

The illustrations are appealing and the last page encourages counting from one to ten by looking back through the book for certain animals.

It is very well made from sturdy thick cardboard and should stand up well to wear and tear. Recommended.
