5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely great!, 25 Aug 2008

I'm a dedicated fan of the fantasy genre, and as a teacher I'm always on the look out for quirky, interesting examples of fantasy writing to share with my students. What I love about these books is the way in which the author takes fairy tales and traditional fantasy elements and turns them on their heads - the Princess Cimorene is an inspiration! These books do not combine into an enormous read like 'The Belgariad', they are gentle, witty and simply good fun. I'm not sure they deserve their 10+ tag, I'd say (content wise) they're suitable for aged 8+ if the reader has a reading age of 10+. I enjoyed these books, they're an easy read and they made me smile as I read them.

5.0 out of 5 stars It just gets better and better, 15 Oct 2004
By A Customer
I actually read the first two books and didn't realise that there was a further two to read! I was over the moon when discovering this that I instantly bought it and I must say, it was well worth it!
The story starts with Princess Cimorene who hates doing things the 'proper' way and ends up running off to live with the dragons. This is a marvellous series that adds the many aspects of fantasy in a highly humorous yet enchanting set of tales. I don't want to spoil it for you but the war between the wizards and dragons is just unfolding and well worth the read!
