5.0 out of 5 stars How many did you want ????, 15 Nov 2003
By A Customer
I started with the Captain Underpants books by Dav Pilkey and went looking for more of the same. Instead I found 'God Bless the Gargoyles'. Having read previous reviews I decided to take a chance and bought six copies of this book for my children and their friends. Having now read the book I will be buying several more for my adult friends. We all have moments when we feel lost and alone and this book speaks to those moments. The gargoyles in the book realise "the souls of the lost weren't really alone. Each one had an angel, each one was protected and each one was cherished, loved and respected." Beautifully written rhyme, complimented by excellent illustrations. Despite the fact that it is a story for children, it is bizarrely comforting. The messages are good and right - this book is a must for children (especially those of a sensitive nature) - and a meaningful gift for adults. If you are feeling vulnerable - be prepared to shed a tear.

5.0 out of 5 stars A moving book for myself and my pets, 5 Aug 1999
By A Customer
I was deeply moved by this book and hope that others will find the same tenderness and peace from reading it, and sense the truth of it in the air around them as they read. This book comforted me on a night when sorely needed, but the changes it will bring to my understanding of who is here in our home with us, helping us, will change our lives forever. I find myself wishing it were possible to somehow pour this book into the drinking water of every city and town... we would all be the better for partaking of its comfort, truth and joy...

5.0 out of 5 stars Touching,a story to delight adults as well as children., 9 Dec 1998
By A Customer
My daughter used this wonderful book for the Children's sermon in our Church this past Sunday. She wanted to get across the idea of how something or someone who appears ugly on the outside, is often beautiful on the inside. Her use of this beautiful story, reached the hearts of not only the children in our service, but the adults as well .
