If you're looking at this item the chances are you already know a bit about the extraordinary Mr Gorey and may even own the previous books in the 'Amphigorey' series.

This final book is the fourth such collection and was compiled after the man's death. It's really just a scrap book of his last works and it shows.

That's not to say it isn't good. His standards were so high that most illustrators would give a kidney to approach it's quality.

However, looking back it's clear that the first Amphigorey is the finest.

So who are you? Are you new to Gorey? Then buy the first and decide if you want to go further.

Are you someone who owns the first three? Well, your path has been laid out for you. You must buy this one also.

Are you someone who owns not only the first three but also has numerous hardback editions of the original stories? Then you must not only buy this but also 'The Elephant House'.

And if you're completely crazy you must track down the wonderful BBC Radio 4 play/documentary entitled 'The Gorey Details'. For you the search for all things Gorey may never end.
