5.0 out of 5 stars SANDFORD AT THE TOP OF HIS GAME, 9 July 2007
By Gail Cooke (TX, USA) - See all my reviews
(TOP 50 REVIEWER)    (REAL NAME)

Could Lucas Davenport be stymied, trapped at last?
It's a hot summer night, muggy with the threat of a storm, when two men known only as Big and Little gain entry to a Minneapolis mansion inhabited by two elderly women. They're savage in their assault, not only killing but further venting psychotic rage by beating a lifeless body. We read: "In a second, in three long steps, he was on her again, beating the dead woman with the pipe, heavy impacts shaking the floor."
It seems that this is one crime that may stump Lucas Davenport, but wait. Our relentless investigator has another case on his agenda - a high ranking politician with a penchant for pretty very young things has been accused of satisfying his debauched desires with a teenager. Surely one case has nothing to with the other.
It's amazing how Sandford has continued to maintain his high standard with this his 17th Prey novel, yet he has produced another winner. Don't miss it!
- Gail Cooke

5.0 out of 5 stars He did go and do it again!!, 1 Sep 2007
By Penny Harvey "penhar" (England) - See all my reviews
(TOP 1000 REVIEWER)    (REAL NAME)
This review is from: Invisible Prey (Paperback)
Lucas Davenport is still absolutely gorgeous - even though he's not quite as hard-edged as he used to be!!

This is a must for all John Sandford (and , of course Lucas) fans. As usual superbly written, tight, paced and still developing the characters after all this time.

If you enjoy a good thriller - with an edge, and have not read any of the prey series, as the other reviewer suggested - start at the beginning and read in order - growing with the characters only adds to the brilliance of the novels.

Just a shame we have to wait so long between each one - perhaps Mr Sandford could type a bit quicker!!??!!

5.0 out of 5 stars As good as ever!, 28 Jun 2007
This review is from: Invisible Prey (Paperback)
The long awaited Invisible Prey has not disappointed; another great Sandford book which i am reading far too quickly!I do suggest you read them in chronological order- you get more of a feel for how the characters have developed over the years. As always a credible story line, well written and really quite addictive... Lucas is a bit of a hero *swoon* !!

Come on Mr Sandford- don't keep us waiting too long for the next in the Prey series.
