Max and Ruby hold a birthday party for grandma. Max gets up to his usual mischief and manages to seat his own guests (his toys) at the table, dispite Ruby saying "no", by playing tricks to disguise them!
Beautifully written, witty and intriging. Rosemary Wells writes another funny tale, not too short and not too long. My son who is two enjoyed this for being a Max and Ruby story. My other son, aged 4, thoroughly appreciated the cheekiness of Max and his disguising his toys so that Ruby did not realise they were present, and felt sure she had miscounted! Won't fail to impress any Max and Ruby fans!
