I bought this book on the spur of the moment, having been reccomended to the author. I knew nothing about him before reading this book, and it turns out the book is aimed at a teenage audience.. but the only thing that makes it seem like taht is that the main characters are teenagers.

The whole book has a magical atmosphere and is about two cousins, and their journey towards understanding each other. The adventure takes place in the the spirit world, where one must overcome her fears and sacrifice much in order to save both of them.
