5.0 out of 5 stars From Pig to Twig., 14 Aug 2009
By Jordan Sims - See all my reviews

Admittedly, I got this book because of the cute title. Well, so glad I did. Inside I found a great plan that really does work--if you follow it diligently. It's not hard to do but it will entail some willpower, which is the hardest part of doing anything. The authors really know what they're talking about as they, themselves, have gone through the whole many diet disasters familar to most of us. Overall, it's a fantastic plan and also a good read. Don't pass it up. Another that I found most useful, also, was Goodbye, Fatty! Hello, Skinny! How I Lost Weight And Still Ate The Foods I Loved-Without Dieting.

5.0 out of 5 stars It Really Works, 7 Jan 2008
By Anne Crofts "Anne Crofts" (Harpenden, England) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I have read through the paperback version which, as the previous reviewer says, has been edited. When it came out in hardcover I and two friends bought it and followed it faithfully. One of us lost the stone she had planned to lose, I lost two and half stone and the other lost two stone. Two of us, including me, haven't slipped up in a year. I found it very entertaining and an excellent prop when my willpower needed strengthening. It isn't easy but there is so much sense about why we eat and general psychology that it's comparable to having a friend with you. I believe I have finally accepted that I cannot continue to stuff food at will without damaging my health. My blood pressure has dropped from 148/92 to 120/78 and the threat of medication has been avoided. I have tried other ways of losing weight, included Atkins, and this is the first time in 50 odd years I have found a sensible, sustainable eating regime - for life.

5.0 out of 5 stars A revelation - AND IT WORKS!!, 25 Feb 2008
By Ms. L. Clegg "Miss Pink Panther" (London) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Having been overweight for a number of years and tried several diets I am truly delighted to have discovered the I.P.D

It works!!!

And it is not very hard to stick to!!

And you don't feel 'hungry' or 'deprived' at all!!

Being a 'foodie' (or just darn greedy) one of things I am amazed at is how full I feel, I am never hungry, and the book is full of yummy recipes that don't require 500 ingredients and 6 hours to make!

This book is ideal if you're a busy person, as most of us tend to be, or aren't a Domestic Goddess in the kitchen. There is a cookbook which accompanies the I.P.D. book (or Pink Bible as I now call it) and it has oodles more things to make.

Since following this way of eating I have lost weight and inches and for the 1st time in years have bags of energy, clear skin, and am feeling optimistic that I can lose the excess weight I carry. I have also lowered my cholesterol level and lowered my quite high blood pressure... So all in all I like it, my body likes it and is letting me know it is getting healthy again. I would recommend this way of eating to anybody who has more than a stone to lose.
