2.0 out of 5 stars Too much missing from this edition., 10 April 2008

Like 'Frenchstudent' and 'Big bad wolf', I purchased this because of the Red Riding Hood cover, and was equally disappointed to find that this story wasn't included.

In fact, this edition has only one thing going for it - namely, that it's so very cheap. But really, prospective purchasers should do themselves a favour and consider spending just a few more pounds - this will get them a *complete* edition of the stories.

4.0 out of 5 stars Strange Omissions, 5 Dec 2006
By Mr. Christopher Abalain "Frenchstudent" (Manchester, UK) - See all my reviews

Yes of course, this book is full of the Grimms' wonderous tales, but I found it peculiar that the illustration chosen for the front cover would be of Little Red Riding Hood, when she is not even one of the stories featured in the book. Neither that, nor Cinderella, cited on the introductory first page, are included, which I found strange. And slightly annoying, since I wanted to study the Red Riding Hood story!

5.0 out of 5 stars The founder of all modern stories..., 15 Nov 2000
By A Customer
Grimm's Fairy Tales are what we all know and have heard since we were young but probably did not know their origin. This book will delight you with stories you know from childhood and stories you may not yet have heard. This book is said to be responsible for the growth of modern German culture and when you read the stories and realize just how famous this book actually is, you will see why.

This was a very disappointing book. There are dozens of stories in here, but all of them are boring and none of them were interesting or enjoyable. Read more

3.0 out of 5 stars confusing
Same here, Frenchstudent. The cover is confusing and a cheat. Riding Hood, Sleepng Beauty, Snow White are excluded, the most popular ones, which annoyed me too. Read more
