Quite simply THE greatest one-volume reference source for quiz-lovers. Thousands of facts in a wide range of areas often coverd by quizmasters, includes (without highlighting them) the answers to hundreds of the most-often asked questions.

One request to the compiler and publishers however - please don't make us wait quite so long for the next edition. I had the last edition and loved it, but many of its sections have been completely out-dated for some years now.

A great book for all quiz fanatics and those wishing to extend their knowledge of trivia. Easy to read, and entertaining also.

I really cant bring myself to recommend this book. As a serious quiz lover I couldnt rely on it to give me accurate information. I've only had it a week or so and already I've learned not to fully trust a book which places Salzburg in Germany, awards an Honorary Knighthood to a US President who never got one but misses out the two who did, makes a woman the winner of an Olympic Decathlon, gives the wrong manner of death to the heroine of Aida, tells us about the highest active volcano in Europe but not the world, lists Mormons and Moonies under Christianity, informs us of the number of books in the New Testament but decides against letting us know the number in the Old Testament.

The book is highly selective about what warrants an entry. Although very good on pop culture and film trivia, it only takes a cursory stab at other topics. I found the listings confusing and muddled. Frankly I found the Cambridge Factfinder to be more comprehensive, better indexed and more accurate.

I have two editions of this work and must agree with those who are not all that impressed.It contains 'classical' errors often made in quizzes.
