Product Description
Synopsis
A guide for anyone affected by adoption includes guidance on making the decision to search, negotiating legalities, surviving the emotional turbulence of a reunion, and dealing with the impact on adoptive parents.

From the Author
Thank you readers!
"Birthright" is now in it's third printing, and one of my greatest joys is when I am contacted by individuals who felt the book was beneficial. For me, the most special 'success' story is a very personal one. My birthmother Lee (who is also an adoptee) used "Birthright" to search for her own birthmother - and after a long and difficult effort, was successful. The first gift she ever sent her mother was a copy of "Birthright". My grandmother, who was eighty-years-old when she was 'found', later told me how reading the book helped her cope in the early days of our reunion. I never anticipated how the words and stories in "Birtright" would benefit so many people - nor what a profound effect it would have on my own family...

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent in many ways..., 19 Feb 2001
By A Customer
This book is full of the many aspirations, losses, and heartaches associated with looking for your birth parents. The author uses many terms to explain the feelings of the individual searching, as exhausted, apprehensive, questions of legality, happy, and so forth. The book also deals with racial segregation and racism in general. Overall, this book can touch the heart and lead the human spirit in many directions. Awesome, heart touching book
