5.0 out of 5 stars Better than sitting upstairs on a red open top bus!, 20 Feb 2001
By A Customer
A great travelling companion. All of the possible information that you should want arranged in such a manner that you can find it without looking like a lost foreign exchange student. I used it on a recent visit to find the pubs and restaurants worth visiting in central London. The reviews are written with clarity in mind. One glance and you know if you are in the mood to suffer the crush injuries of a pint in Covent garden, or the solitude of a tuna sandwich in a hostelry of plush Mayfair. Also the information regarding the attractions and the prices allow the visitor to decide the the worth of a trek accross the capital. Other essential things like accomodation, shopping and where to take the kids are explored and described with succinct detail. The section on the things that you are not likely to think about until faced with, such where to buy anti-histamine cream at 4am and where to go to find your brolly that you dropped somewhere on the central line is a comfort too. In short this is a highly recommended navigation tool. It does come with easy to read maps, but which are not detatchable. Not a huge problem, you can pick maps up in tourist offices for free just about anywhere anyway. Better than a tour guide as you decide the destination without being led like sheep, and you can use it time and time again. A must for those wanting to see what London has to offer on and off the beaten track. It's only limitations are those set by its owner!
