Product Description

At twenty-seven, Libby thinks there's a lot to be said for a rich husband. So when Nick comes along - lovely, funny, handsome Nick, who has no money whatsoever, lives in a grotty bedsit and thinks the perfect night out consists of the pub and his mates - she decides he's only good for a fling. Wealthy investment banker Ed, on the other hand, could possibly be the answer. His house in Regent's Park makes up for his hideous moustache and she can probably overlook his irritating habits. And he's crazy about her. But does Libby really know what she needs? Is it more important to look for a man who makes you laugh, who's kind, sensitive and most of all sexy as hell? Or one who can give you security and worships the ground you walk on?

4.0 out of 5 stars What a surpise, 17 Mar 2003
By Ms. T. C. Perry (England, Aylesbury) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
When i first picked up this book to read i didn't think it would be as entertaining and engrossing as it was. I had got the book from a car boot sale, and considering i have never read one of her books i was surpised by it. She was a girl who wanted it all just like everbody today who want more. It was funny and witty and it could be related to, how many times have we all got caught up in a situation and can't think of a way out, because we're so worried about hurting that person, no matter how annoying. It was a true girly read which i throughly enjoyed and am going back to read the rest i missed. The only problem was in books now the women always seem to look the part/beautiful what happened to bridget style people who pull the hunks making us feel like it can happen to us, we can get that hunk.

5.0 out of 5 stars Thoroughly enjoyable easy read, 11 Jan 2000
By A Customer
I read this on the recommendation of a friend. I had never read this type of book before (first person diary style). But I'm converted. The story was funny. I think this book is mainly for girls. My boyfriend didn't understand half the things that I thought were amusing. It is very insightful into the female way of thinking. I'm now looking to read Jemima J or Straight Talking (both by Jane Green) as I thought Mr Maybe was such an enjoyable read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another fantastic novel by Jane Green, 15 July 1999
By A Customer
Jane Green does it again. Her third novel expands even more on her skill to make you associate the characters with the real people you and I both know.

Libby, 27, is desperate to find the perfect man, get the perfect house, have perfect children and live perfectly ever after.

Meeing Nick at a social gathering, she decides that he's not "Mr Right" but "Mr I Can Have A Fling With Him" and sets off to do so.

Then, one night while out with her best friend Libby meets Ed "Mr Very Very Rich" - a man that should be filling the pages of "Hello" magazine.

As Libby's life becomes a whirl of glamour and designer clothes, she decides that Ed changes from being her "Mr Maybe" to "The One".

As thier relationship moves on, you'll grimace with Libby in the bedroom... and your mind will keep wandering back to Nick..... just like our Libby's. I won't spoil the rest - You'll just have to read the book to find out what happens!

Make a special effort to let Libby's Mum into your heart too. She is so perfectly written by Jane Green, and there is something about her we will all recognise in our own mothers.... either that or Jane Green knows my mum! Eeek!

An excellent book that will make you laugh out loud and gives hope for all of us single girls still out here.

5.0 out of 5 stars Jane Green knows a good chick-lit...
Ok, this book isn't Jemima J which in my opinion is Green's best work to date however, it is amazing in its own right. Libby is a 27-year old who works as a PR. Read more
