Product Description

Product Description

A selection of Krishnamurti's talks extracted from the Krishnamurti Foundation bulletin. The subjects range widely, but put his usual emphasis on personal experience, "being here now", having an "elastic" mind, and disbelieving answers given by religions, teachers and himself.

5.0 out of 5 stars Krishnamurti - Meeting Life, 25 Sep 2002
By michael hoddy (Buckinghamshire, England) - See all my reviews
Five years ago I had the luck of literally stumbling across this book in the Oxford Public Library with little knowledge of philosophy and no prior awareness of Krishnamurti. At that time, I was very confused and frustrated with life and found this book an absolutely life saving read.

The book is a collection of beautiful short stories, questions and answers and talks focusing very much on what is in front of your nose - your life! It gives no sudden revelations, offers no quick fixes and seems to leave you with more questions than answers. This, I believe, is where the wonder of this book shines through. Instead of offering you the advice and opinions of others it asks you merely to pay attention to yourself in your thoughts and actions and those of the world around you. At times I found it mildly frustrating because I had to work in finding answers that were not easily offered in the book, as is the case with so many 'self-help' books. But this is not such a book.

I found it timeless, eye opening and a book that I could turn to at any time and in any mood. I wholeheartedly recommend it.

At times I found it mildly frustrating because I had to work in finding answers as these were not easily offered in the book, as is the case with so called 'self-help' books. But this is far from what this book is about as the content is not to impress, it is not trendy and there is not one single 'buzz' word in sight.

I found it timeless, eye opening and a book that I could turn to at any time and in any mood, not just when I was down. I wholeheartedly recommend it.
