From the Author
Developer/2000, the HandbooksDeveloper/2000 is Oracle's flagship development environment, comprised of Oracle Forms, Oracle Reports, and Oracle Graphics (and "little" tools, such as Oracle Terminal, which is covered, too.)
Amazon.com carries both of my Developer/2000 handbooks, the first edition (published 1996, ISBN: 0132279681) covers Developer/2000 1.x: Forms 4.5, Reports 2.5, and Graphics 2.5. The second edition (published 1999, ISBN: 0139181113) has the same title but covers Developer/2000 2.x: Forms 5.0, Reports 3.0, Graphics 3.0, and the NCA architecture. Both books contain walkthroughs and reference sections, and I attempt to provide a broader context than simply covering the mechanics of the tool. It does not cover basic SQL or PL/SQL -- these aren't strictly required to understand the material, but will be necessary for serious development.
I have made every effort to provide practical, accessible information for the casual and professional developer, covering the basic kinds of issues that come up day-to-day in our development shop. For those who crave more information than can fit in a single volume, I can also recommend Albert Lulushi's excellent books (which are sold with the Second Edition as a set as the Oracle Developer's Reference Library.)
Note that Oracle Designer/2000, also known as the Oracle CASE tool, is a different product and is not covered by these handbooks.
