It is a great beginning and beyond., 19 Aug 2000
God Bless Al G. Manning and his Spirit Band of ESP LAB OF TEXAS(check out the web site!) He's great and this book is a true break thru. I've been using it for years. Fun, Love, and growth. He's got some practical advice for all the budding white witches out there(without having to join something that may be too heavy and ineffective), some good recipes for incense recommended gems, oils, hours and even a couple seals to reproduce and wear. If you are looking to control someone or belong to an ancient archiac tradition:DON'T get the book. If you want a mindset to bag the opportunity you are praying for, this is a very effective, positive approach for positive results.

Great for Beginning Spellcasting, 25 Mar 1999

I have the original version of this book (1974) It's true that some of the "look how so and so found a job" testimonials can be tiresome at times. However, there are excellent teachings in this book such as the cleansing and protection rituals and I loved the "building of thoughtforms" ritual, you don't see that in alot of current Neo-Pagan/New Age books. I also like how the chapters are broken down, and the "homework" at the end of each chapter, ensures that the individual has truely mastered the techniques and lessons of that chapter. If followed ,his instructions will leave you with a true sense of knowledge in the area of spell casting. It's been 20yrs since I bought the book and it is still one of my most cherished. Just a reminder if you are looking for information on the "Religion" of Wicca or any other path this is NOT what this book is about, This book focuses on spellcasting and building your own personal powers and abilities.

This is one of the better books on witchcraft. It is very well organized and the author knows what he is talking about. The book is positive, because the author believes in what he is saying. It is not a con or false information. The spells and his advice work, if you work at them. With a lot of practice , witchcraft does work. There is no royal road to success and the occult is no exception. You must practice for a long time to see results. This is what Manning says in the book. I give the book a full thumbs up.
