The text covers topics which include: the main components of a class definition; application of constructors and destructors using a symbol table example; descriptions of how a new class can be derived from an existing class without writing the former from scratch; the implementation of B-trees as a case study and the development of a user-interface manager (UIM). End-of-chapter summaries highlight the important issues covered in each chapter, illustrations provide a graphical view of difficult concepts and end-of-section exercises encourage the reader to explore the concepts covered within a section.
