Product Description

Product Description

There's a world of great Web technology out there, but how can you make it all work together to build a Web site that achieves your goals, and works great, too? This book shows you, from planning through development, testing, deployment, and beyond. Along the way, you'll discover how to get fast results with FrontPage, Visual Studio 6, and many other great Microsoft tools and techniques. Start by identifying your site's goals and making the business case for building it. Create a high-level design; make key up-front technology decisions; and plan for feedback and advertising. Establish site-wide standards that will make your life much easier as your site grows; create a database and integrate it with your site; design graphics and navigation; and much more. Build feedback pages; track broken links; provide site help; plan and execute site tests -- and go live. This hands-on book covers the nitty-gritty tasks other Web books miss, so you can build your site faster and more effectively than ever before.

From the Publisher
summary and table of contents

This is a great book for classical programmers who want to get into the Internet! If you have experience with Internet programming: DON'T BUY IT!

But if you are a programmer who want to learn the basics and a little more then: BUY IT!
