4.0 out of 5 stars A great introduction to XML for web designers., 21 Dec 2001
Provides an excellent introduction to XML and includes sample files and tutorials on an accompanying web site. This book is written by a web developer for web developers, so is a nice contrast to all the programmer-oriented books (i.e. the big thick ones). It covers all the stuff you've heard about but never quite understood. It describes DTDs, schemas, the DOM, and shows you how to use XSL to format XML documents; the later chapters have common applications of XML such as SMIL and SVG.
