Product Description

Product Description

One step at a time, through more than 3 hours of desktop digital video and audio, world-renowned expert Craig Larman will teach you the core principles and best practices of object-oriented analysis and design. Watch, listen, and learn, as Larman walks you through four iterations of a single, cohesive case study, incrementally introducing the skills, activities, principles, and patterns you need to analyze and design any real-world software system. Unlike courses that focus solely on UML notation, Larman shows how to design with and think about objects. This new edition is thoroughly updated to reflect today's latest and best techniques for defining requirements; building use cases; modeling domain objects, attributes, and requirements; creating layered architectures; designing objects; and more. Learn how to express the results of analysis and design using the world-standard UML 1.4 diagramming notation, then master the "Agile UP" framework for modeling and development using key Unified Process activities and practices. Practice with the hands-on projects included on CD-ROM, and compare your results against Craig Larman's expert solutions! Includes a custom workbook containing all video presentation materials.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent introduction, 21 Sep 2002
By DSG (Leicester, Leicestershire United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
This 2 CD set provides an excellent introduction to OO design, Patterns and the UML. The pace is about right and the explanations and examples chosen clear and concise. Larman cuts through the waffle of most other authors and gets right to what you need to know to use and apply OOD. If you've ever read any of Larmans books you will know what to expect. If not then this is an excellent place to start
