I would not recommend buying this book. It is full of errors and misleading information. It seems to me that the authors don't have enough knowledge about some of the topics, which therefore should have been left out of this book. The book seems to be more like an advertising brochure about the excellence of Decision Support Systems rather than an objective set of information based on scientific research.

Furthermore, there are too much unnecessary information. The small amounts of valuable information is snowed under the large extent of examples and cases.

A manufacturer of Decision support systems may find some arguments in this book to persuade executives to buy their systems, but system developers should not ever consider buying this book.

As a postgraduate AI student, this book was recommended reading in one of the modules, but I have to say it is not the right book if you want to get into the nuts and bolts of decision support systems. The book presents page upon page of non-specific examples and product advertisement through case-studies. Save your money and get a statistics/data analysis textbook instead.

I foudn this book extremely insightful and fascinating. The book is presented in a logical manner. The inserts give excellent real-world application. I commend the authors and challenge them to apply their style to other textbooks.
