5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent book. Not only XML but all the latest technologies, 3 May 2001
By A Customer
For everybody who want to start programming in any internet related techniques. The 'XML programming...' is such a good material that several of my colleagues rushed and bought it straight away. I am now a 'convert' to 'How to program ...' Deitel publications and am going back to have some of their earlier books.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not great...., 30 Dec 2003
This book at first seems like a complete bargain, it covers loads of topics. But I found it very frustrating to use because the examples were too simple and the book didn't cover areas in enough detail.

I found XML a really abstract concept to initially grasp and I felt that this book didn't really help explain a) the relevance, b) the importance, and c) most importantly of all, its uses.

I feel that a book on how to program anything should be easy to reference, too many programming books follow unclear layout that make them less programmer friendly and this book is one of them.
