Dear Colleagues,

I just happen to notice a comment from one of our prospective readers, who is keen on looking at the book table of contents, etc. Hence, thought I should create a website of the book providing latest on-line information related to the book along with the following information:

- The complete table of contents - Preface - A sample chapter - Educational Resources

Links to free-ware/public domain software related to cluster computing: * Fast Communication Protocols * A complete cluster environment * Cluster Management Systems * Programming Environments like MPI and PVM * Sample Parallel Applications * Parallel Computing on Lunux/NT * and much more.

I am also including known links to universities adopting this book. Please visit book website maintained by me for more information at:

http://www.dgs.monash.edu.au/~rajkumar/hpcc.html OR http://www.bigfoot.com/~buyya/hpcc.html

If you are a faculty member and would like to use this book in your course, please contact me. I may be able to provide you more teaching resources.

Another information on Cluster Computing:

By recognizing the growing requirements of cluster computing, IEEE Computer Society has formed a task force:

IEEE Task Force on Cluster Computing (TFCC) URL: http://www.dgs.monash.edu.au/~rajkumar/tfcc/

From TFCC website, you will find a lot of information related to cluster computing provided by leading experts of the field.

I welcome your suggestions and please feel free to contact me by email either at rajkumar@ieee.org or buyya@computer.org or rajkumar@dgs.monash.edu.au.

I hope you will find the book useful and interesting.

All the best.

Yours Sincrely,

Rajkumar Buyya

4.0 out of 5 stars Ideal for a fast introduction to clustering. Hot links., 16 Mar 2000
By csiguenza@iies.es (Galicia (Spain-Ultra North Africa)) - See all my reviews
I was looking for a book for my 4th year students on Computer Science where they could get a quick view on what was going on about clusteing computing. This is the book.

As each chapter was written from a different team with different skills and objectives, the whole makes a good picture, because it is possible to match solutions to problems, and understand them even if you never knew about them before. Context Learning is very important for students, and here they can find how to manage theoretic concepts that otherwise would be easy lost.

Links to related topics are good enough to get a more accurate knowledge on each topic if needed.
